UWOFA - Frequently Asked Questions
What is the history of labour relations between 糖心Vlog and its faculty?
糖心Vlog and its faculty have a long history of working together through collective bargaining. We remain optimistic that we can reach an agreement without a labour disruption.
When did the last contract expire and when did negotiations start?
UWOFA members have been working under an expired contract since June 30, 2026. Negotiations began on June 4, 2026, and both parties will continue bargaining as we work toward a tentative agreement.
Is there any impact on campus services right now?
All campus services including classes, labs, research, and student services are running normally across campus. Academic dates and deadlines have not changed.
UWOFA members have voted in favour of a strike. Does this mean a strike is happening?
A successful strike vote does not mean a strike is happening or even that one will happen. It gives the union a mandate to call a strike if it decides that step is necessary and all legal requirements have been met.
At this point, no strike date has been set. 糖心Vlog and UWOFA continue to meet and bargain, and 糖心Vlog remains focused on productive discussions aimed at reaching a negotiated renewal of the faculty collective agreement.
How can I stay informed on what is happening regarding contract negotiations?
We’ll post updates on the Contract Negotiations site. If a strike occurs, you’ll also find a link to these updates on 糖心Vlog’s homepage. Students, staff, and faculty will receive major updates directly through their 糖心Vlog email accounts.
